Jonny's Story
Born in California and raised on a farm in New Hampshire, I never imagined I'd move to the big city, fall in love with a handsome Venezuelan photographer and get married. In fact, being gay, I never imagined I'd get married at all. At first marriage seemed like a crazy idea. Why did anyone need to get married anyway? Then I looked up one day at the gym and saw this sexy 25-year-old guy in the mirror. He smiled back. Twice. That was 11 years ago. I've never been more happy. I've never been more in love, and it just keeps getting stronger. Suddenly, marriage makes more sense than anything to me.
Our Story
JJ's Story
I'll blame it on the mirror, while I was working out doing my regular chest routine, I kept getting distracted by this guy with big arms. I wanted to steal his technic. He had a very focused work out style. But I was also intrigued by the idea he might notice me. Then we caught ourselves a couple of times looking at each other in the mirror. So, to make a long story short, I started to flirt with him, then got a little aggressive trying to meet him, so i followed him — and BAM we felt it. Unfortunately, it was at the time that I had been in the States nearly as long as I was allowed on my tourist visa. It was time to go back to Venezuela where I was born and raised, on the south side of the Caribbean Sea. And so I went home for a while. But I wanted to be back here with Jonny so bad, so I decided to come out to my family, and deal with it. What I felt in my heart was so deep and so real that I made sure I returned to that gorgeous, gorgeous man. And here we are stronger than ever 11 years later. Amazing, how in the blink of an eye, I found my true love. Despite the fact that my parents will never agree with my sexuality, and they have been so difficult about it until now, I still believe that the power of love is bigger than anything in life.
